"Look down, but not depressed!" The Arizona sun is intense, and we have lots of low-lying vegetation and wildlife to navigate. In order that you may have a comfortable experience in our beautiful Sonoran Desert, you might think of preparing the same as you would for a safari in the African desert, or perhaps the Australian Outback. Here's a list of some of the things you should think about packing for your visit:

• Sunscreen

• Hats

• Sunglasses

• Protective shoes for hiking or roaming in the desert (Sandals or slippers for when you're inside, in case you, or someone else, brings in an unexpected and unnoticed visitor like for instance cactus attached to shoes!)

• Long-sleeved, light shirts and long pants if you are sun-sensitive
